Commencing with the supposed death of John Harmon, who's body is found in the Thames, Dickens' tale of hidden identities, greed and love, all wrapped up with the theme of wealth and its evils. Our Mutual Friend is considered one of Dicken's most spohisticated works, and first appeared in parts as it was written in 1864-65. Here we have it in book form published in the same year.
