Currie, set into each covers.Nicholas Rowe (1674 - 1718) is primarily known for his tragedies, his edition of Shakespeare's plays (1609), and his translation of Lucan's Pharsalia.Printed London for Bernard Lintott, at the Crofs-Keys, between the Two Temple-Gates, in Fleet-ftreet.Beautifully bound by Rivière and Son in full brown crushed morocco, wide-spaced double-fillet border with gilt roll-tooled leaves surrounding a recessed frame of gilt-ruled rays, and a central frame gilt roseate and lyre tools around the miniatures, gilt-stamped turn-ins, olive green watered-silk doublures and endleaves, all edges gilt. Rivière and Son and "Miniatures by C.B. Currie" gilt-stamped of to the lower doublures, housed in a black half-calf slipcase and chemise. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
