Latrobe, also enclosed a ALS from the Author's Son, Peter Latrobe, 1823. Quarto, vii,[1] 406pp, [2 Adverts] Folding engraved map, routes marked in red and blue, Complete with Twelve Fine Hand-Coloured Aquatint Plates, and Four uncoloured engravings. Attractive later half morocco, raised bands, compartments gilt rules and designs, over marbled boards. Latrobe was sent out to South Africa in response to the request of Moravian missionaries at Genadendal and Groenekloof for a minister to visit them. Description of the District of Groenekloof, and of the missionary settlements, about thirty miles north of Cape Town'.
