Three typed letters signed; one autograph letter signed and one autograph postcard signed to Margaret McCall [Broadley]
five pp., approx. 1000 words in total, London and Sommie[grave]res France, 24 November 1967 - 2 September 1972. - The recipient was a television producer who joined BBC TV in its earliest days in the 1950s and went on to produce some of the corporation's finest arts and music documentaries in the 1960s and 1970s, introducing numerous writers and artists to television for the first time. Among them were Lawrence Durrell, with whom she developed a special friendship, John Betjeman, who likewise became a close friend, Robert Graves and Graham Sutherland. An excellent series of letters covering a wide range of subjects and reflecting the closeness of their friendship. The autograph letter lacks a salutation but appears to be complete.
