New York: Brentano's, 1929. Second Printing. Sherriff's celebrated drama of the First World War, set in the British trenches in France in 1918. The play was adapted for film in 1937 and 1954, and was the basis for the 1976 Jack Gold feature Aces High. Original cloth-backed batik paper boards; 204pp. SIGNED by the entire 10-member cast of the play's premiere at the Henry Miller Theatre in New York City, including: Evelyn Roberts, Leon Quartermaine, Victor Stanley, Derek Williams, Colin Keith-Johnston, Jack Hawkins, Sydney Seaward, Eric Stanley, Henry Wenman and Sol Dowday. A tight, attractive copy, mildly rubbed on spine and with a small ownership label to front pastedown; mild offsetting to front endpaper from laid-in clipping (now removed), else fine internally.
