Printed for William Hall.and Wrigley & Berriman, Philadelphia 1794 - v, [4], 8-13, [1], 513pp, [3]. With terminal blank leaf. Six folded leaves of tables included within the pagination. Contemporary half-calf, marbled boards, contrasting red morocco lettering-piece, gilt. Heavily worn, loss to board corners, splitting to joints with lower board nearly detached, spine cracked with loss to head and foot and some worming. Foxed throughout, slight chipping to one folding leaf. A comprehensive collection of statistical information regarding American trade and manufactures during the latter part of eighteenth-century, compiled by political economist, Tench Coxe (1755-1824). As delegate for Pennsylvania to the Continental Congress, Coxe naturally focuses on exhibiting the economy of said state, though not at the expense of providing highly detailed records of the resources and industrial output for the entire nation; including the burgeoning Southern cotton trade, which Coxe was largely responsible for establishing.
