Inaugural Address of the Governor of the State of California, January 8, 1852
[Sacremento]: Eugene Casserly State Printer , 1852. Pamphlet, 8vo, stiched, inscribed, including self wrappers, untrimmed, 14, [2] pp. Some darkening and soiling to wrappers, two horizontal folds, stitching coming a bit loose; else very good. This copy is inscribed by John Bigler (1805-1871), who was the third governor of California. Bigler comments on the riches and resources of California, and the progress of civilization there in the past few years. He also comments on some national issues of the day, and California\'s support for the U.S. Constitution. Interestingly, during the time he was governor of California, his brother, William Bigler, was the governor of Pennsylvania.
