Cloth over boards is edge rubbed with bumped corners, handling wear, overall light soiling, faded silver lettering and design on spine. ; 13 issues published in 1926 of "Svanda Dudák," a magazine issued every four weeks. Svanda Dudák was launched in 1882 and edited by its founder, Czech satirist Ignát Herrmann (1854-1935) almost continuously through 1930. Both he and his 1926 co-editor Karel Horký (1879-1965) were frequent contributors to the magazine's content as well. The 1926 issues featured the writing of Karel Polacek, Frantisek Jejkal, Vasek Kojas, H. A. Simunek, Karel Zelensky, Adolf Cervinka, and various others. Tri-color, bi-color, and monochrome cartoon illustrations by Jozef Cejka, Zdenka Maskova, Prokop Laichter, K. Zvelebil, K. Müller, V. Klimanek, H. Patocka, I. Sebek, Vlastimil Rada, J. K. Kubin, Eugen Normand, A. Moravec, Jos. Grus, and others. Some advertisements of Czech businesses, primarily in Prague. The title of the magazine is drawn from a Czech folk story coincidentally the basis of a 1926 opera unrelated to this publication. ; 9.0" tall; 384 pages .
