Although Australian chess literature is a poor relation of its cousins in Europe and the United States, nevertheless more books, pamphlets and magazines were printed or otherwise produced than is generally realized. Because this literature was often aimed at a limited readership and had to be produced as cheaply as possible to find readers at all, much of it is now rare and difficult to find. The second edition of this work was limited to 50 copies which was published in 1978. A supplement ws made to the second edition in 1983 which included items published up to 1982. A second supplement was published in 1989 contained items missed in the previous publications and updated the new publications since the last supplement. The third edition was published in 2003 and combined all the previous material and updated the new material published to November 2003. This fourth edition is bring the bibliography up to date to June 2009. With the internet to all library holdings throughout Australia and New Zealand allowed for the first time to identify items held in these libraries. With the advent of digital publications and the World Wide Web, there is a blurring of the definition of literature. This bibliography videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and digital publication were treated in the same way as traditional printed literature. The Index includes publication titles and authors, but newspaper titles are not included as they appear in alphabetical order in Part 3 of this work. This fourth edition completely supersedes the previous editions.Condition:A fine copy.
