M?nchen: Verlag von Franz Hanfstaengl, 1887. First edition. Hardcover. vg. Portfolio. Unpaginated. 12 loose plates, as issued. Original decorative red cloth, with gold lettering on front board. Decorative endpaper and flaps. Title-page in gold lettering, with publisher's device. Extremely rare and exquisite work on equestrian sport, profusely illustrated with 12 mounted albumen photographic reproductions of paintings on heavy card board. 7 paintings are from Emil Adam, 2 from C. R. Huber, 1 from A. Wagner, 1 from A. Kowalski, and 1 from H. Lang. Each painting is from the Gallerie Moderner Meister collection. The scenes depicted are from horse races, hunting, horses with carriages, etc... Minor closed tears along front joint, and minor rubbing along edges of portfolio. Some foxing on title-page. Sporadic and rare foxing along margin of plates (not affecting illustrations). Portfolio and interior in overall very good condition.
