Venezia, Andrea Torresanus de Asula for Simon de Luere, 1501. - Folio, circa 33,5 x 24 cm. 188 leaves 19th century full vellum with two gilt labels to spine Adams P 773; Renouard 292/1; Speck/Neumann 5. Self-contained second volume of the rare second edition of the Latin works of Petrarca here with the additional Vita printed for the first time. This second volume gives, apart from the valuable Vita, the Epistole rerum senilium, Africa, Buccolicum carmen de duodecim eglogas, Testamentum suum, Privilegium laureationis et al. The first volume (not present here!) has "De remediis" and other works. - With a nice contemporary inscription at the end "Dono dni Archidiaconi de mari Joanis Busquets." and few annotations in the text from the same hand. - White margins of first and last leaf with small repairs not touching the text. Minor browning or spotting, mostly clean and nice. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
