William Blackwood and Sons, London 1886 - Three volume first edition set in original decorative cloth, ex-library, with a label to the front board of each volume. The boards are bumped, rubbed and faded, with damage to the cloth at the corners and spine ends. The text blocks are age toned and slightly dusty, with minor foxing, they are slightly cracked at the endpapers and at points throughout the text blocks. An uncommon novel by Oliphant, considered to be autobiographical in inspiration, it describes the political shenanigans of a group of occultists, bent upon socio-economic reform. It has been described by some critics as bordering upon the lunatic, quite an endorsement! [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
