Death In Venice
Martin Secker 1928 - The First UK printing published by Martin Secker in 1928.The BOOK is in VERY GOOD++ or better condition.Green boards are clean and lightly faded in places. The spine is not sunned with very light fading to the spine tips. The gilt titling remains bright.Mild offsetting to the prelims and rear end papers.Due to the poor quality of paper used at this time there is the usual light spotting to the text block and to the prelims and rear pages. This is more noticeable on the title and facing pages. Clean throughout apart from the occasional spot in places.Free from inscriptions markings and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near FINE condition.Toning to the spine and mild edge wear to the spine end and fold tips.Remarkably well preserved for it's age.The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The Nobel Laureate's iconic work which was very successfully adapted for Film by Visconti and for Opera by Benjamin Britten.A sharp copy and very scarce to find in such condition. The nicest copy we have handled. ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact.
