Provenance: Albert Edward Richardson, architect and author, with his book label and ink signature to the pastedown of both vols. Fourth English edition of one of the eighteenth-century's most influential architectural treatises, this edition was the first to include Joseph Gwilt's notes on Grecian architecture, and a biography of Chambers by Thomas Hardwick.
