This book, first published pseudonymously, includes a satirical view of Henry James which put a strain on the friendship of the two writers. "The Story of the Last Trump" was reprinted in The Short Stories of H. G. Wells (1927). Wells 56 Hammond D3. Wells Society 57. Cloth frayed at crown and tail of spine panel, a bright, clean, very good copy in pictorial dust jacket (printed on green paper stock) with shallow chipping at spine ends and corner tips, 25 mm closed tear along top flap fold, and a couple of small internal tape mends. A nice example of the very uncommon jacket. (#147955)
