Portland, Maine: William Hyde, 1842. First US edition, translated from the French. A work on faith and salvation, written as a dialogue between a pastor and a young servant named John. Dark brown blind stamped cloth with gilt lettering on the front cover, 115 pages. Light edge rubbing and some very minor chipping to the spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, gift notation on front free endpaper, pages otherwise clean and unmarked, only very minor scattered foxing to the first and last few pages.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
