Near fine in a fair only outer dust wrapper (toning to the wrapper, some chipping and wear at the sides of the spine.) One of 1150 copies (although probably fewer were actually produced.) Selected letters from Miller in the 1930's to his long time friend Emil Schnellock. Cover drawing by Miller. Interesting associaton copy INSCRIBED on the first page "To James Fitzsimmons, a master of black and white" and dated at Big Sur in 1945. Fitzsimmons was a photographer (his work was included in an exhibition in Los Angeles in the 1940's with Man Ray, Weston, Ansel Adams and others) and the first husband of Evelyn Dawson Winn, dancer, sometime model for Man Ray, and good friends of both Man Ray and his wife Juliet. 61 pp plus colophon.
