James Francis "Frank" Hurley, OBE was an Australian photographer and adventurer. He participated in a number of expeditions to Antarctica and served as an official photographer with Australian forces during both world wars. Bound in dark green cloth with stamped gilt lettering to the spine and front cover. This ex-library book shows external wear, with light soiling to the covers and minimal library markings. Minor loss of material can be seen at the outside corners of the boards. The volume has a gilt top edge. Contents sound. The endpapers offer b&w pictures of Antarctic. The words "History and Travel Section" are stamped at the top of the front pastedown. 22 plates, b/w fold-out map at page 122. The pages are clean and without markings. This work is illustrated with numerous photographic plates. The fold-out map at page 122 is well preserved. ; 0 .
