Portrait of Helena Rubinstein
New York: Vanity Fair, 1930. Photo a bit faded, mount with a few chips at edges and some pale edge-soiling. Gelatin silver print, 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, on a 14 1/2 x 11 inch mount, signed "Beaton" in red wash on the mount. A fine half-legth profile portrait of cosmetics entrepreneur Helena Rubinstein (aka Rubenstein). She is laden with jewelry and a damask beaded trimmed garment with plaster cast heads cascading down in front. This shot was taken by Beaton for Vanity Fair, ca 1930.
