The Burnt Orange Heresy (Inscribed to Elmore Leonard, with TLS)
Crown Books, New York 1971 - Very good or better in a supplied second printing dust jacket. Boards lightly faded, corners bumped. This copy warmly inscribed on the front free endpaper by Willeford to Elmore (Dutch) Leonard. Laid in is the concluding page of a typed letter from Willeford to Leonard, commenting on Roger Corman, Burt Reynolds and the travails of scriptwriting, and signed by Willeford as 'Chaz.' The letter is worn along the upper edge. All in all, a solid copy of Willeford's first hardcover novel from a major publisher, warmly inscribed to the great Elmore Leonard, with the bonus of a charming (albeit incomplete) communication between these two giants in American noir. A great copy, nicely inscribed, and a fantastic association. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]
