A few pages roughly opened, including one that removes some text, thus very good in near fine, very slightly spine-sunned dustwrapper. Three long essays on Chicago that first appeared in the New Yorker. Inscribed by Liebling to his editor at the New Yorker: "To Bill Shawn - Joe Liebling." A relatively innocuous inscription masking an important relationship, Shawn had worked at the New Yorker since 1933, and became only the second editor-in-chief at the beginning of 1952 after the death of founder Harold Ross. ...
