New York, ca. late 1960s - A splendid pencil drawing by Mad artist Mingo, of the magazine's gap- toothed, jug-eared, inanely grinning Alfred E. Neuman, this time with his tongue protruding. A larger than life-size image, done as a preliminary to a subsequent painting Pencil on thin tracing paper, approximately 12 x 13 inches. One horizontal fold, tissue extended by the artist with pencil-receptive transparent tape over which he has drawn, a few short marginal tears without loss, not affecting image; overall fine, mounted in an archival mat [Attributes: Soft Cover]
