Koekkoek, title page printed in red and black, original decorated green cloth, front panel stamped in white, spine panel stamped in gold. First edition. A deranged psychic investigator uses a camera that simultaneously kills and photographs the victim in an attempt to capture the soul leaving the body. Hornung (1866-1921), Arthur Conan Doyle's brother-in-law, is best known for his popular series of stories about Raffles, a Victorian gentleman thief. Hubin (1994), p. 415. Cloth light rubbed at spine ends and corner tips, first and last leaves of text block tanned from contact with adjacent free endpapers, a very good copy. An attractive copy and scarce thus.
