Redesigned Futurist Postcard from New York by Depero
New York 1929 - Dated and signed on verso. 138 × 89 mm. Coloured postcard with the photographic images of the City Hall Park in New York. The words "Depero" and "Futurismo" in red and blue pencil are "blaring out" from the top of a skyscraper. Depero lived in New York between 1928 and 1930, made costumes for stage productions and designed covers for magazines including "The New Yorker" and "Vogue". Fortunato Depero (1892-1960) was an Italian futurist artist and designer. Founder of the "Casa d'Arte Futurista" (House of Futurist Art) which specialized in producing household objects in futurist style. Slightly chipped at edges, otherwise in fine condition.
