The Master of the World: A Tale of Mystery and Marvel
Philadelphia: Lippincott, [1915] - Original dark green cloth pictorially decorated in color. Profusely illustrated. of this science fictional tale about the dangers of technology -- in this case, a flying machine called "The Terrible" -- in the hands of the wrong man. Published in English first as a volume in Vincent Parke's edition of The Works of Jules Verne, this is the first separate American edition, printed from British sheets. Taves & Michaluk V054; Meyers 37. This is a lovely copy, bright and tightly bound. There is a nick to the top of the cover and an associated scratch to the top of the pages, and an attractive bookplate to the front pastedown. Otherwise about fine. [Attributes: First Edition]
