Public Affairs Press, Washington, D. C. - 261 pp. Copyright 1948-1949, no edition stated. The book has an introduction by Senator Francis J. Myers and was edited by M. B. Schnapper. This book is signed: Harry Truman, White House, June 26, 1951and has a personal inscription by President Truman to Mrs. Kelly, the mother of Frank K(ing) Kelly - from whose estate this book was acquired. During the Truman campaign for President in 1948, Frank Kelly was a speechwriter for Mr. Truman. Mr Kelly made reference to the circumstances surrounding the signing of this book during his oral history interview for the Truman Library, which can be referenced on Google. The book is in good condition. The pages are unmarked with minor handling creases, toning and light soil to the edges, and shallow insect nibbles along the top edges. The cover has a faded spine and some white spots on the back. The bottom front and top back corner tips are rubbed, exposing the boards, and the spine ends are frayed with short tears. No DW.
