MIDNIGHT AND NOONDAY Or Dark Deeds Unraveled
Published by the author. Caldwell, Kansas 1890 - Offered here is an original 1890 First Edition of the book: Midnight and Noonday Or Dark Deeds Unraveled written and published by G D Freeman (Name misspelled on front cover) of Caldwell, Kansas. Book size a bit smaller than 8 by 6 inches with 405 pages. Printed paper over boards. Frontis and three full page illustrations on glossy paper. One of the rarest of the rare it is listed by just about every bibliographer as Exceedingly Rare which usually means that a dozen or fewer copies are known to exist. Caldwell, Kansas was one of those early lawless cattle towns and the author was on the spot to record all the wild and wooly happenings during the 1871 to 1890 period. If you collect Western Americana you know this book but probably not this First Edition. A complete copy with nothing missing; front hinge with a couple of small cracks; rear hinge cracked; one tiny page tear at the top; covers with rubbing and wear through to the brittle paper along the edges. As nice a copy as you are ever likely to see. I limited the photos I took to reduce handling of the book--if there is anything I have left out that you need to know do not hesitate to ask. VERY GOOD [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
