From the library of the American novelist and journalist Lucien Price (1883-1964). A beautiful copy in a presentation binding of contemporary dark red suede with the title and owner's initials in gilt. Fine. Laid in is a manuscript note in ink by Hermann Sudermann on his printed card (9.5 x 15 cm). A noted play that caught the immediate attention of Edith Wharton. Her English translation: The Joy of Living was published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1902. .
