First edition. 12,500 copies printed. Fifth book of the Mars series. Bleiler, Science-Fiction: The Early Years 308. Heins CM-1. Spine ends and corner tips rubbed, light tanning to end papers, a very good copy in a good four-color pictorial dust jacket (reproducing painting by J. Allen St. John on front panel) with several closed tears, mostly along folds, internal tape mends to same, one external tape mend at bottom edge of spine panel which extends 20 mm on front panel, some dust soiling, principally to spine panel and along flap folds, shallow chipping at spine ends, corners and along top edge of rear panel, small chip at center of front flap fold. Overall, the dust jacket presents fairly well. An uncommon book in jacket.
