Apocalypsis revelata in qua deteguntur arcana quæ ibi prædicta sunt, et hactenus recondita latuerunt. Amsterdam, 1766. 4:o. 159,158-629 pp.
1766 - Nice contemporary english calfskin binding with raised bands, richly gilt spine and reddish-brown label. Cover edges decorated in blind, covers gilt-framed to a mirror design and coloured in two different nuances. Spine somewhat faded and dry, upper joint cracked at top, some rubbing and a minor stain. A small printed book advertisment mounted on verso of front flyleaf. Textblock clean with an occasionally reaccuring dampstain in the margins and a rust stain on pp. 277-78. One sheet misbound. Margins heavily browned towards the end. A good copy from Ericsberg.Hyde Bibliography of Swedenborg's works 2195, who informs us that the slip containing an advertisment which is present in this copy also is found in the copy belonging to the Swedenborg Society. Towards the end of his life Swedenborg was occupied with interpretation of the Book of Revelations. He interpreted the message of the Last Judgement and the speak of a new Heaven and a new Earth as a spiritual event which had taken place in 1757. His thoughts on the subject were presented in this work. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
