Copy of the Official Map of the Property of the Eureka Homestead Association, Adopted November 16th, 1864
Towne and Bacon [1864], San Francisco - Roughly 19.5 by 16.5 inches. Printed in black with block labels in maroon ink. An original map (the 'Copy' in the title indicates this is a printed reproduction of a hand-drawn map) of a portion of the Castro district of San Francisco, bounded by Douglas, 17th, Noe and 20th Streets. An unusual map in that it is entirely printed using lead type, with rules of various thicknesses utilized for the block outlines. Listed in OCLC, but with no locations (but probably owned by Bancroft). A very unusual letterpress map. Near fine, especially considering the thinness of the paper. Edges lightly toned; minor wrinkling in a few places.
