Federicum Leonard, Parisiis (Paris) 1688 - Two volumes complete - Volume One - [46], 564pp and Volume 2 - [2], 565-848, 256pp. Contemporary full blind stamped vellum, raised bands, spine in six panels, handwritten title to second panel, central lozenge-shaped arabesque to covers. Vellum slightly grubby, slight lifting to endpapers where vellum has shrunk and tightened, boards splaying for the same reason, couple of corners bumped, binding tight. Some very minor browning internally, one or two ink spots to title and margins of first couple of pages, but generally quite bright and clean. Slight loss to fore-edge of D3 and corner of M1 and 2, tear to fore-edge of N3 (none affecting text), with small nicks to fore-edge of title in second volume. Previous owner's armorial bookplate to front pastedowns (William Burton), with gift inscriptions to head of titles. Harwood page 224, Brunet I:363 "une des meilleures editions qui soient dans la collection", which corresponds with Moss' view that this is "one of the best editions" (in the Delphin series) (Moss I:183). Latin text. Attractive Delphin edition Size: 4to [Attributes: Hard Cover]
