Four Manuscript Poems
Four Typescript Poems from Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Franz Wright with one Inscribed with a sentiment of affection for his longtime companion and sometimes collaborator, Martha McCollough. The four poems are written on three pages of thin typing paper with some wear to the extremities, all near fine. Wright, the son of poet James Wright, won the Pulitzer Prize in 2004 for his book, Walking to Martha's Vineyard, matching his father who won the prize in the same category in 1972, and making them the only father and son to accomplish this feat. Two of the poems, "Before the Storm" and "Gone," were published in his book The Night World and The Word Night, while the remaining two poems, "Untitled (Late at night...)" and "Forever," could not be located and may be unpublished. A small but compelling collection poems with a wonderful association.
