1935 An original wood engraving measuring 6 7/16 by 5 7/8 inches. The print is not numbered; Christopher Buckland Wright records that a few artist's proofs were pulled from the block before it was sent to the publisher. Titled, signed, and dated by the artist, John Buckland Wright, in pencil. The wood engraving depicts a stormy, windswept winter landscape, with a bridge and a winding road in the foreground and mountains in the background. Grass and tree boughs bend in the wind, and dense clouds fill the sky. The illustration was one of four published in a calendar of the four seasons in 1935. The illustrations were commissioned by L. C. Boucher, Folemprise, The Hague. In a mat measuring 15 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches. Slightest toning to two edges of mat, else very fine.
