Brno: V. Jelinek & F. Venera 1936 - Quarto, cloth, 102,v pp., 103 numbered plates + 10 unnumbered full-page and 5-1/2 page illustrations, and an original, signed engraving. The edition consisted of 500 copies, with the first 100 including a signed drypoint; 400 included a signed engraving. The engraving that is found in this copy is "Zatisi s kitaro a podvosem ovoce" Catalgue 109, a variant state from the illustrated example in Filla's catalogue of printed work. A Festschrift and overview of Filla's work, with essays and poems by 19 authors, including Nezval, Styrsky and Vincenc Kramar, with several poems by the artist as well as Josef Hora. Emil Filla is one of the great painters of the 20th century. From his earliest work and as a main protagonist of Czech cubism, to Neoclassicism and violent surreal expressionism he excelled in every area of endeavor.
