Quarter green morocco and marbled boards with matching endpapers; lacking the rare folding map as in most copies; institutional blindstamp on title pages; bookplate on front pastedowns. A clean copy. Uncommon. O'Dea 478. Joseph Beete Jukes (1811 - 1869) was the first Geological Surveyor of Newfoundland. The "General Report of the Geological Survey of Newfoundland, during the Years 1839 and 1840" is included in the 2nd volume p. 195-354..
