Bradbury and Evans, London (May 1849 - November 1850) - The present set collates complete, with ALL Advertisers, ALL slips and ALL rear ads called for by Hatton and Cleaver; ALL wrappers are correct. Twenty monthly parts in 19; octavo, with 40 inserted plates, including the frontis and vignette title. [i-vii]viii[ix]x-xii[xiii]xiv[xv-xvi], [1]2-624. Plates in parts VIII, X, XI and XII are browned at edges; plates in parts X and XII have light off-setting from the facing plate; all other plates are very good to fine. Several parts have spines expertly renewed and several front wraps have a subscriber name. The Lett's Diary ad in part VIII has the fold-out and 6 specimen leaves. An outstanding set in every respect and with a pedigree - it is from the (Thomas) Hatton and Cleaver collection. Housed in a handsome full leather Solander slipcase [Attributes: First Edition]
