London.Bell and Daldy. 1872. - xxvi, [2], 155[156]pp. Tinted lithograph frontispiece, and six plates at the rear bearing multiple examples of sundials. Original decorative brown cloth, gilt. Quarto. First edition. Recased with the original spine laid down; new endpapers but the originals retained also; some light spotting to plates; lengthy contemporary presentation inscription on original front free endpaper with a quote from Henry IV Part 1, and another slightly later ownership inscription. Else, a very good copy of the very scarce first edition. Loosely laid-in is a highly detailed two-page letter, written in 1901 to a Mr. C. J. Saunders, from a F. W. Nash, describing how Mr. Saunders should set-up the sundial in his garden. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
