AN IMPORTANT ASSOCIATION COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY LOWELL TO LOUIS UNTERMEYER on the front free endpaper: "Louis: from Cal." Untermeyer nominated the book - Lowell's first - for the Pulitzer Prize, which it won partly due to Untermeyer's advocacy
