Previous owners neat name written, in light pencil so easily removable, on the top of the title page. Finely bound in recent half burgundy morocco. Spine with five raised bands. Gilt ruling and lettering to compartments. Burgundy cloth on boards. The page edges untrimmed. The earliest state of the publishers 32pp adverts, dated October 1884, at the back. Original publishers decorative front board has been bound in at the rear. A fine copy of the true first edition of this classic book.
