Strong Opinions.
New York: McGraw-Hill, 1973 - Octavo. Original black cloth, titles to spine in silver, orange endpapers. With the dust jacket. Minor abrasion to front free endpaper. An excellent copy in the lightly rubbed jacket. First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author on the title page, "for Herbert Mitgang from Vladimir Nabokov", along with a butterfly illustration comprising half of a large butterfly with two smaller butterflies superimposed over its wing. Herbert Mitgang is an American author and journalist who kept up a correspondence with Nabokov and was one of the last people to interview him in the months leading up to his death (for an article published in the New York Times in January of 1977). Nabokov's butterfly drawings are rare, and this is a particularly nice association.
