They were also called Cobbett's Weekly Political Pamphlets, Annual Register, Political Register and Weekly Register. William Cobbett (1763 born 835 died) was a pamphleteer of verbal and stylistic skill who lived in America from around 1793 to 1800. Cobbett was a vocal and respected critic of America who was successfully sued for libel by Dr. Benjamin Rush. Cobbett supported America during the War of 1812. William Cobbett moved from America to England and back several times. The moves were usually done in advance of the authorities in response of his sharp-tongued pamphlets of which these are examples from 1802.
