A Fine copy of the first UK edition, first printing (prior owner's neat signature to the front free end paper), in a Fine dust jacket (with less toning to the rear panel and flaps, and with brighter spine lettering, than usually seen), SIGNED BY ELIAS CANETTI on the half-title; Canetti's examination of Franz Kafka's letters to Felice Bauer, his fiancée, through which Canetti provides insights into Kafka's life and shows how the letters inspired his writings. Elias Canetti won the 1971 Nobel Prize in Literature "for writings marked by a broad outlook, a wealth of ideas and artistic power". Signed copies of his works are not terribly common to the market and signed copies of his work in English translation are scarce. A Fine copy, SIGNED BY ELIAS CANETTI. SCARCE.
