London - Privately printed at the Chiswick Press 1909 - A limited edition catalogue of the Earl of Radnor's extensive collection of Old Master paintings. Bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering and bevelled edges. First edition. Collated complete. Limited edition, number 150 of 200. Printed on handmade paper. Two volumes. Jacob Pleydell-Bouverie, 6th Earl of Radnor (1868 -1930) was the son of William Pleydell-Bouverie, 5th Earl of Radnor and Helen Matilda Chaplin. He married Julian Eleanor Adelaide Balfour, daughter of Charles Balfour, and had 10 childrenHelen Matilda Chaplin, who during the First World War conducted her own all-female orchestra and was said to wear her tiara backwards so that the audience could see it while she was on the rostrum. It was she who first catalogued the impressive art collection at Longford Castle and had it published in two large volumes. Condition: The binding is tight and firm. There is mild wear to the extremities, including some bumping and rubbing. There is some fading. Internally the pages are clean and bright. Overall the condition is very good.
