Jane Austen's Works in Six Volumes
Richard Bentley and Son, London 1882 - Cream buckram covers, gilt title and author on spine, no other decoration on binding. Good ++. 1882 edition. Covers are lightly soiled, spines browned. Top edge of pages gilded, other page edges untrimmed.Cream endpapers tanned. Frontispiece to each volume has engraved illustration with tissue guard. Titles:' Sense and Sensibility'; 'Pride and Prejudice'; 'Mansfield Park'; 'Emma'; 'Northanger Abbey' and 'Persuasion' in one volume; 'A Memoir of Jane Austen' (by J.E. Austen Leigh) and 'Lady Susan' in one volume. This last has a facsimile dedication to her nephew and signature from Jane Austen facing Page 1. Hinges are torn at one point in 'Pride and Prejudice', hinge torn and last ten pages detached but present in 'Lady Susan'. Internally they are all clean and unmarked.
