A Commentary on the Prophecy of Malachi
Oxford - Printed at the Theatre 1677 - A very scarce and importantearly volume bound in decorative, paper covered boards. Edward Pococke (1604-1691) was an English Orientalist and biblical scholar. His most important works were a Lexicon heptaglotton (1669) and English commentaries on Micah (1677), Malachi (1677), Hosea (1685) and Joel (1691). Malachi or Mal'achi was a prophet in the Bible, the Christian Old Testament and Jewish Tanakh. Condition: The binding is fairly firm, although the cords are visible in several places as you might expect from an original paper binding of this period. Both covers and all internal pages are securely attached. There is wear to the extremities, including rubbing to the boards and some slightchips to the spine. Internally the pages are generally clean and bright, apart from the occasional handling mark and very minor brown spot. Overall, this scarce volume is in very good condition. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
