The plant descriptions, along with accounts of their medicinal qualities, are presented in verse directly below the illustrations. These are followed by more detailed text giving names, forms, localities, and medicinal virtues. This book was very popular; it was reprinted in Italian, and translated and published in several other languages, for a number of years.
