Darton's New Plan of London and Westminster with the latest Improvements.
London: [1835] - Size: 400 × 590 mm. Copperplate engraving with original hand colour. Good. Dissected plan has been laid onto fresh backing linen. An attractive plan of early nineteenth-century London giving good detail on a scale of 3-3/4 inches to the mile. A keyed index below the map gives references for 200 principal streets. Map extent is from Rotherhithe in the south east, Kennington in the south, Chelsea in the south west, Regents Park in the west, Kings Cross in the north and Bethnal Green in the north east. The City of London is highlighted, major roads, fields, squares, gardens and parks are coloured. A nice early plan of London prior to the railways being built. Comes with original (worn) slipcase.
