The Story of a Bad Boy
Fields, Osgood, & Co. - 1870. First edition, Blanck's first state with all points. 8vo green decorated cloth with the spine elaborately stamped in gilt. Occasional light foxing. Light rubbing at the spine tips and outer joints. Laid in at the front is a check signed by Aldrich and made out to Talbot Aldrich in the amount of $10,000. Talbot was one of Aldrich's twin sons. The other twin, Charles died of lung disease in 1904 at age 34, and Aldrich grieved for him the rest of his life. A fine copy of this fragile book, preserved in a custom cloth chemise and green half morocco slipcase. Peter Parley to Penrod, page 35. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
