A Scott high-spot in an attractive contemporary binding. The bookplates likely those of Sir George Curtis Lampson, 1st Baronet (1806-1885), American-born British financier, fur trader, and early promoter of the trans-Atlantic cable. Three demi octavo volumes (18.5cm); early tree calf (first half of 19th century), rebacked with calf, original spines laid down; xxxiii, [1]-298; [1]-327; [1-3], 4-371+3pp publisher's ads. Half-titles present following title pages; "Advertisement" leaf in volume I.; three pages of terminal ads in volume III. Board edges lightly scuffed; old paper reinforcements to hinges; board corners squared and strengthened. Engraved armorial bookplate of "Lampson" to front pastedown of each volume. Texts fresh and complete; a sound, Very Good set. [Attributes: First Edition]
